What is a Candidate Information (CI) check?

If you require us to fetch a reference from someone a candidate had provided direct contact details for, then this can be completed as a Candidate Information (CI) check.

With our usual employment checks, we will complete our own research on who best to reach out to when we request the reference. This is usually the HR department of a large business but can also be direct contacts we have located in smaller companies.

Sometimes candidates will also provide us with details of someone to contact directly. If you wish us to use these details to complete the check, then this can be completed under its own check - the Candidate Information (CI) check. This is an additional check on the system and can be added by our team.

With this check, we will request the same reference information we would have requested from the employer but from the direct contact.

As this is a contact provided by the candidate and we are not able to validate the information they have provided, the highest traffic light this can be allocated is an amber light.

Please be aware that the candidate can provide anyone as a CI referee and the results should be viewed with that in mind.
