Should host families for exchange students be DBS checked?

If an exchange student who is staying with a host family is under 18, then yes, an enhanced level DBS check will be required to be completed on all individuals over the age of 18 who live in that household.


If the exchange student is over the age of 18, then only a basic level DBS check need be obtained.
