What does Activity Years mean?

Activity years means a period for which the client wishes to check what their candidate was doing for work and/or education during that time.


You can choose to cover 1 to 10 years of activity with no limit on the number of references pursued during that time. We'll verify your candidate's work and education based on the chosen timeframe.

Please note, the number of activity checks section should be left at 0 unless you have a minimum requirement of activities you wish to verify for your candidate(s).

When you add in an amount to the number of activity checks, this means that your candidate will be required to provide this many checks, which often exceeds the number of activity years selected.

Verifile will verify contact details for referees through independent research and seek written references when possible.


Note: You can only order activity periods on Candidate Entry Orders via the following button.

Activity Periods can be included in your bespoke packages, and therefore, you do not need to order a separate Activity Period option when selecting this package.


If activity period is not part of your selected package or you are ordering individual checks for your candidate, you can add the required activity years to the order by following the below steps:



    1. Log in to the Verifile client portal.


    2. Click Place Order (Candidate Entry) on the toolbar.

    3. Enter the information of the candidate you wish to place the checks for.

    4. Click Next.

    5. Select which service type (level of service) is required for your candidate.

    6. Underneath the service type you will see activity, this where you would type the number of years you wish to cover off for your candidate.

    7. When you place the order the candidate will then fill out the background screening form and create individual activities for what they were doing in that period (studying, working, not working, etc.). The candidate must provide the number of years with no gaps between, so all time is accounted for. 

If your candidate has had any employments or has studied outside of the United Kingdom, then no need to worry as they can provide these activities on their background screening form and we will proceed to obtain references. 


    8. Proceed to check the list below with all checks provided by Verifile and select the additional checks you would like to place for your candidate (if required).
