ID Checking Guidance for Standard and Enhanced DBS Checks

The enclosed document link will assist you in confirming a candidate's identity and to aid Verifile in conducting their background checks.

The DBS confirmed that you can still use passports that have expired within the last 6 months if you are confirming a candidate’s identity in person via the manual route. These details can be added onto the Verifile system as normal by your candidate as they complete our online form. 

Please kindly note that for a ‘UK Criminal Record check’ that uses a ‘UK Digital Identity check’ to confirm the candidates ID via digital route cannot use expired passports, as they must be valid (In date) to scan for the digital process.
