Introduction
This article outlines key pricing, fee and charge considerations across our service offerings, including official check costs, optional reference costs and how multiple final reports are managed. It’s aimed at procurement, compliance, and vendor management teams.
1. Where to Discuss Pricing
You can review the current costings per check when logged in to the Verifile Client Portal (Section 2: Placing an order).
If you would like to discuss different packages or pricing options, we'd love to speak to you.

2. Additional Reference Fees
Some services require supplementary fees beyond the base order cost—for example, when obtaining specific employment or academic references.
If a reference is required and not already covered in the base order, we will request your approval for the additional fee before proceeding.
If payment approval is not provided, we cannot complete the reference and may cancel the check.
These additional fees are clearly flagged on the order before processing.
3. Multiple Final Reports – One Charge Only
Should you receive a second or revised final report for the same candidate/order (for instance, if a referee responds late), you will not be charged twice.
Only one charge is applied per order.
Your invoice will reflect a single order charge, even if multiple final reports are issued.

4. Official Check Pricing Updates
With effect from 2 December 2024, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) fee schedule was updated as follows:
Enhanced DBS Check: £49.50 (formerly £38.00)
Standard / Basic DBS Check: £21.50 (formerly ~£18.00)
DBS Update Service: £16.00/year (formerly ~£13.00)
These changes are set by the DBS, not by us; our administrative fees remain unchanged.
Note: Disclosure Scotland prices vary.
