Types of Right to Work Checks

TABLE OF CONTENTS

This article summarises the Right to Work checks we offer and how they differ.

UK Right to Work Check (Audit)

This is an audit to ensure your own internal Right to Work process has been carried out correctly, and you hold the correct documents on file for the candidate.

We have attached our Right to Work in the UK Audit Form to this article. This shows a full list of accepted documents for this check.

The requirement for this check is that you upload the necessary documents rather than the candidate. This is so that we can ensure the documents you hold on file comply with the Right to Work legislation.

We will chase you 3 times for the required document.

Once this check has run and the audit is complete, we cannot reopen it if it ends in a red status because of insufficient documents being provided.

UK Right to Work (Digital and Conditional)

This was part of the first release of Digital ID checks when the legislation changed, enabling digital confirmation of ID to be completed via an approved app.

Candidates who hold UK or Irish current and valid passports can successfully complete the Digital Right to Work Check.

Candidates do have the right to opt out of Digital ID, as their consent is required for this service.

If a candidate does not hold a current and valid UK passport, or does not want to complete the Digital Route, the check will proceed using the Right to Work Conditional process.

With the Conditional Right to Work process for Enhanced Service Orders, we would reach out to the candidate for the document directly.

We can do this 1 time.

If the document they provide is incorrect or the image is unreadable by the software used for this check, we will request a new document to rerun it.

For standard service orders, we would reach out to you for this document.

UK Right to Work (Digital)

This is a digital Right to Work product. It works in the same way as the above digital Right to Work with conditional check.

However, the digital Right to Work process does not involve the manual approach if our internal background team requests additional documents.

Rather, the check will be completed or cancelled based on whether the candidate has fulfilled the requirement for the Digital Right to Work.
