At Verifile, we recognise that data privacy is a crucial issue, and we want to ensure our clients and candidates are fully informed about how their information is handled, especially concerning third-party services such as Yoti.

When Does Yoti Use Data for Research?

Yoti may use user data for internal research and development (R&D) purposes only under the following conditions:

  • An organisation partnering with Yoti has explicitly granted permission for such data use, and

  • The individual user has provided their explicit consent.

It’s essential to clarify that Verifile has not granted Yoti any such permission, which means Yoti is not using any candidate data submitted through Verifile for research and development purposes.

How Candidates Can Opt Out

1. If the Candidate Created a Yoti Account:

If a candidate creates a Yoti account to transfer their information to Verifile, they can opt out of their data being used for internal research by following these steps within the Yoti app.

More > My Data & Permissions > Our Internal Research

Please note:

  • This opt-out action is permanent and cannot be reversed.

2. If the Candidate Did Not Create a Yoti Account

Suppose the individual did not create a Yoti account but used Yoti as a method of verifying their identity (e.g., one-time verification). In that case, they should contact Yoti Customer Support directly to request an opt-out.

How can we help?

Yoti’s support team can be reached through the app:
More > Get Help

Alternatively, candidates may use Yoti’s online contact form available on their website:
Contact Yoti Customer Support
